Testing

PSAT:  Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test. This test is offered to sophomores and juniors. The state of Idaho pays for sophomores to take this test in October. During the junior year, it is the qualifier for the National Merit Scholarship. This test is only given on the national test date and juniors can pay for the test at registration. It is very similar to the SAT, a college entrance exam. This exam covers Math and Verbal content areas.  Click here for more information.

SAT:  Scholastic Aptitude Test – This test is a college entrance exam and it covers Math and Critical Reading only. Students register on-line at sat.org/register. The state of Idaho pays for juniors to take this test in the spring of their junior year.

ACT:  This test is also a college entrance exam. This test covers a wider range of areas. They include: English, Math, Reading, and Science Reasoning. Students register on-line at actstudent.org

ASVAB: This test is the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery. Students considering entering the military should take this test.  Click here for more information.
